About FolioPress
FolioPress is a website and blog builder for people who publish in more than one language. You write a page once, translate it when you are ready, and every language gets its own address on your own domain.
Why it exists
Most website builders treat a second language as something you bolt on later: a translation plugin, a duplicate site to keep in sync, or a developer to wire the two together. Writing the words is the easy part — keeping every version of them in order is not.
FolioPress does that job by default. A page carries its translations with it, each language has its own URL, and the language switcher sends a reader to the same page instead of back to the homepage.
What it promises
- Every feature in every plan. Bilingual is 12 EUR a month or 120 EUR a year, for two languages; Multilingual is 19 EUR a month or 190 EUR a year, for every language. Both plans have every feature — they differ only in how many languages. For several sites, Studio covers five in every language for 49 EUR a month or 490 EUR a year.
- 30 days free. The whole product, not a reduced version of it.
- No limits on pages or posts. Write as much as you want to.
- Your own domain. One for the site, or a different one for each language.
- 44 languages (60 regional variants) to publish in. The editor itself speaks seven of them: English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Dutch.
- Nothing publishes by itself. Translate, summarize and proofread sit beside every field, and every suggestion waits for you to read it and save it.
- Hosted in Europe. The servers are in Finland.
Who makes it
Made in Europe by @rodesia, an independent developer. FolioPress is a small self-funded project, not a company with a roadmap.
